Following up on our spectacular Sold-Out shows of "Grease",
this fall Roustabout's Apprentice program is singing & dancing its way through the gorgeous mega-hit,
"Beauty and the Beast".

There are many fantastic parts - male and female, lead and chorus - in this blockbuster show. This show has several demanding vocal parts, so please come prepared to show your singing range if you are interested in a lead role. Of course, we will again have terrific dance numbers and stunning costumes. The shows will run two weekends, Nov. 22-23 & Dec. 6-7, Saturday & Sunday, matinee & evening.

Auditions

Singing Auditions take place the following days at the Wells Fargo Center:

Please call (707) 527-0983 to sign up for a 15-minute slot. Each slot begins on the quarter-hour from 4:00 - 6:45pm. (e.g. you could sign up for Monday at 4:30 or Wednesday at 5:45, etc.).
Please note: Singing auditions on wednesday, August 20th will only happen between 5:15 - 6:45 due to dance auditions the first part of the day.

Dance Auditions

Please note: EVERYONE gets to attend the dance audition on Wednesday, August 20th from 4:00 - 5:00pm (Carston Cabaret)!

Please bring comfortable clothes to audition in. Also, ladies, if you have character shoes, please wear them to the auditions.(If you don't have them yet, don't worry about it!)
Even if you're not a great dancer, you will have fun with this. We promise!

 

Auditon Materials

Please bring a song to sing. We prefer to hear a song from Beauty and the Beast if you have it; if you don't, then just bring something you sing well. You will be asked to sing at least 32 bars. It should be memorized and fully performed (not 'just sung').

Please bring a Karaoke CD or sheet music (in the correct key) with you.
PLEASE NOTE: If you're using sheet music, an accompanist will be provided on August 20th (5:15 - 6:45) & Saturday, August 23 (11am - 2:45pm) ONLY.
You may bring your own accompanist with you at any time. An electric keyboard is provided.

Callbacks

Callbacks will be held Wednesday, August 27 from 4:00 - 7:30pm. We will let you know by 9am on Tuesday, August 26 if you have been called back. All actors who are called back must attend callbacks; if you are needed for an additional callback, you will be told on wednesday.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are called back for Wednesday, August 27th, you will be cast in the show.

For the callbacks: "sides" will be available online (section of the script) to work on and audition with for the callbacks. Some actors will be asked to sing particular songs from the score. We may also ask you to sing your song again. An accompanist will be provided if needed.
The Final Cast List will be posted on the website by 8am on Monday, September 1st.

 

Fees

Cost for the 14-week class - including all materials - is $550. Several Payment plans and some scholarships are available.

A $200 non-refundable deposit is due on wednesday, August 27th (All actors called-back that day will be cast in the show).

The remaining $350 fee is due Wednesday, Sept. 3 (first day of rehearsal).

Sibling discount is 10% for two siblings who sign up together.

Scheduling

Rehearsals: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4 - 7:30pm, beginning September 3rd at the Wells Fargo Center. Lead characters will have additional Saturday rehearsals (10:30am - 1:00pm).
We will make every effort to let you know 10 days in advance if we will not need a particular actor for a rehearsal day.

Tech week: begins Saturday, November 15th (all day) and will include an additional Thursday night the following week.
