ABOUT US

Roustabout Theater’s mission is to create a vibrant regional theater and unparalleled actor training program in Sonoma County. Roustabout’s Apprentice Program highlights the talents of the county’s most extraordinary student performers through its professionally produced productions. We also provide unique opportunities for our students through our ongoing series of Master Classes with Tony Award-winners, award-winning Broadway actors and nationally recognized Casting Directors.

Roustabout Theater is the resident theater company of the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California and our Apprentice Program is one of the leading theatrical training and performance programs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In operation since 2006, Roustabout Theater has served thousands of the community’s
families and theater lovers through productions, classes and scholarship programs.

We've been a federally recognized nonprofit since 2005. Your support is welcome and all donations are tax-deductible.

TYPICAL SEASON

SPRING
We typically produce two shows in the spring: An Apprentice production and a Journeyman production.  Apprentice productions are selected to encourage development of actors of all ages and experience levels, while Journeyman productions invite more experienced actors to develop their skills working with more sophisticated and complex material.
SUMMER
Roustabout's summer theater camp offers actors of all ages and experience levels the chance to develop their acting, dancing  and singing skills while working on the production of a professionally produced show.
FALL
In the Fall, we will typically either produce a show with seasonal appeal or offer our Conservatory Classes.

Conservatory classes

In addition to working on productions, Roustabout Theater offers our students the opportunity to further develop their skills through our Conservatory Classes.  Held every other year, our classes provide training in acting, solo vocal performance, choral vocal performance, diction, dialect, movement, dance (stage, modern, mass and tap), improv and stage combat.
